Perfect Storm, part 3

Updated: Jan 2

JO

Sleep was impossible.

First there was the problem of the storm. Even though the power had come back on, the storm hadn’t subsided one bit. In fact, if anything, it had turned up a notch since the two of them went to bed. Well, Evelyn went to bed—in the bedroom that was supposed to be Jo’s, no less—and Jo tried sleeping on the couch, as promised. It hadn’t been Evelyn’s idea, so she had nobody to blame but herself. Regardless, this storm was something else. Every few minutes, a flash of lightning would light up the room, and the loudest crash of thunder she’d ever heard would send vibrations through the entire house. The wind was causing the tree right by the front window to sway far more than any tree should. Jo wasn’t a worrier, but she found herself wondering if the whole damn thing would crash through the roof and crush her like an ant.

And if she was thinking about that, Evelyn was probably worried sick. She could only hope the girl was out like a light. She doubted it, though. Evelyn seemed the type to worry about just about everything. It hadn’t gone unnoticed how often she referred to her huge-ass binder full of plans within plans, how often she fretted about every little detail of her trip, how often she mentioned how frantic her morning would be. Poor thing was so high strung, she was liable to explode.

Jo turned over and faced the couch cushions. She couldn’t stop thinking of Evelyn. She’d tried to get some writing done, she really did. But there was no doubt what was distracting her. First it was the curly-haired blonde bathing in the other room, occupying every inch of her mind. Then it was the very same adorable blonde talking her through the final act of her play. Then it was that blonde in a full suit of pastel pink pajamas, looking cute as a button.

It was uncanny. They’d only spent a few hours together. How could Evelyn already be taking over her thoughts? And yet, here she was, lying on the couch, wondering what Evelyn would think of her other story ideas. Wondering what she looked like under those pajamas. Wondering what it might feel like to kiss her. Wondering whether she’d want to keep in touch after leaving tomorrow morning. Daring to wonder if she was wondering the same.

It didn’t matter. Evelyn was probably straight, anyway.

At this rate, she was unlikely to get a single wink of sleep. Which just didn’t seem fair. She hopped up onto her feet and walked to the kitchen to grab a bite to eat, as she often did when she couldn't sleep late at night. It wasn’t until she opened the fridge that she remembered it wasn’t even hers—the only food inside was what she herself had brought: two ham and swiss sandwiches in separate ziplock bags, a six-pack of cola, and a tupperware full of leftover pasta she’d cooked for dinner. It wasn’t much. Her plan for lunch tomorrow had been to grab an omelet or something from the diner down the street that she’d passed on the way here.

She grabbed a sandwich, shut the fridge door, turned around, and walked directly into Evelyn in the darkness. Evelyn squeaked and grabbed Jo for balance, nearly falling over. “Shit, I’m sorry!” Jo said, steadying her. “Are you okay?”

Evelyn nodded groggily. “Y-yeah. Just surprised me.”

“What are you doing awake?...and in the kitchen?” Jo wondered, aloud, the irony not lost on her.

“I couldn’t sleep.” Evelyn’s hair looked even more frazzled than normal, and the shape of her face felt very different without her big round glasses. But she was still as cute as ever. Jo tried not to notice the natural curve of her breasts underneath the fabric of her button-up pajama shirt. “Too much thunder and lightning.”

“Yeah. I, uhh. Same, to be honest,” Jo admitted, though she left out the part where she'd definitely been daydreaming about Evelyn all night long. “Are you hungry?”

She nodded. Somehow, even that was adorable, too. Jo wanted to scoop her into her hands, put the girl in her pocket, and bring her everywhere she went. Was there anything about her Jo didn’t like?

“Here, I have another one of these sandwiches you can have.” She opened the fridge and leaned over to grab the other ziplock bag. From behind her, she heard a stifled gasp. That’s when Jo remembered she wasn’t wearing pants. Her tanktop was long enough to cover up her underwear when she stood up, but…

She turned and thrust the bag-o’-sandwich into Evelyn’s hands, face burning, and brushed past her as she hustled back into the living room. It wasn’t entirely her fault. Hell, she didn’t normally wear anything to sleep—being naked just felt so much better. She kept the panties and tanktop because there was company in the house, but there was no way in hell she was wearing jeans to sleep.

She couldn’t help but notice the way that Evelyn’s gaze trailed her from the kitchen as she hopped back on the couch, though. “You gonna join me or what?” She reached for the remote and turned on the TV, bathing the living room in a dark blue glow as it booted up.

“S-sure.” Evelyn sat one cushion away, much to her chagrin. She opened her sandwich bag and took a heaping bite, ham, cheese and mayonnaise exploding in her mouth. The perfect late night snack. Evelyn followed suit, taking much more measured bites.

They stayed like that for a while, silently munching on their sandwiches while Jo navigated over to Youtube and played random videos from her home feed. She tried her best not to sneak glances at her temporary roommate, but it was impossible not to. Every now and then, she’d catch Evelyn looking at her, as well. It was a delicate dance they did with their eyes.

“Sorry,” Evelyn said quietly.

“Why are you apologizing?”

“I can’t stop, um…” Even in the darkness, the room just barely aglow with the light from the TV, Jo could tell the girl was blushing madly. “You’re very attractive.”

Oh. Jo snapped to attention. So Evelyn maybe wasn’t straight after all. Why did that make her heart stop beating for a second? She tried not to smile and failed. “So are you.”

“What? No,” Evelyn squirmed in her seat.

“Are you kidding?” Jo blurted out. Now that it was out in the open, she didn’t care to hide it anymore. “You’re…extremely cute. Seriously, I could not have asked for a prettier girl to have crashed my airbnb.”

“My airbnb,” Evelyn said with a grin. “You just happened to get here first.”

“Uh huh.” Jo threw a pillow at her. It ruffled her already messy hair even more as she caught it with her face. She grabbed it and threw it back, laughing.

“For real though, I’m trying to apologize over here!”

Jo caught the pillow with one hand and shook her head. “You don’t have to. Seriously. I’m sorry I was snippy when you first got here. I’m actually…really glad we met.”

Evelyn sunk back into the couch. “Too bad I have to leave tomorrow.”

Silence settled between them for a bit. On Youtube, some late night host was launching into a political tirade that Jo guessed neither of them was paying attention to. Jo took a deep breath and decided to shoot her shot. Might as well, right?

“That’s tomorrow,” she said. “What do you want to do tonight?”

EVELYN

What did she want to do? Well, that was obvious.

After Evelyn had touched herself in the bath thinking about Jo’s perfect body, the way her eyes lit up when she was talking about her play, the way her nipples were visible through her tanktop, there were many, many things she could imagine doing with Jo. And after that little slip in the kitchen—when Evelyn got a full sight of Jo’s round, perky ass in those tight panties—hell, she could go for round two.

It was nerve-wracking. None of this had been in her plans. She was supposed to be asleep right now, getting ready for a day of social activity, maybe laying out her clothes for tomorrow, making her morning a little easier. But here she was, awake at midnight, unable to sleep, with a complete stranger she suddenly wanted to straddle.

Evelyn rarely let herself have good things. She hadn’t bought her favorite car at the dealership, she bought the one that was the most cost-efficient. That was just the way she always worked. But this time…something about this storm brought out something new in her. After all, her plans were already decimated. She was already far outside her comfort range. Might as well take advantage of the circumstances. Right?

So she did what she wanted to, for once. Leaving her sandwich behind, she slid closer to Jo, threw a leg over hers, and hopped onto her lap, her arms wrapped around the girl’s shoulders. She was burning fiercely with the sudden realization of how close they were. But it didn’t matter. She could be this person. She could be who she wanted to be. Take what she wanted to take.

Jo looked stunned for a moment, but a smile quickly settled over her lovely lips. “Oh. Hi there.”

“Is this okay?” Evelyn let herself ask. It was the polite thing to do.

The woman reached up, cradled her chin with her fingers, and bit her lower lip. It was one of the hottest things Evelyn had ever seen, that look, the way Jo ravished her with her eyes. “Only if you want to be kissed. Do you want to be kissed, Evelyn?”

Evelyn felt like her face was on fire. She nodded fervently. She wanted that more than anything.

Jo leaned in and kissed her, their lips barely grazing at first. Evelyn wasted no time. She pressed against Jo and held her tighter, their kiss growing more and more intense. There was a crash of thunder outside, but she suddenly didn’t care. The real thunder was her heart pounding against her chest.

They kissed like that for what felt like an hour. Whatever Jo had put on the TV behind her ended and automatically rolled into the next video, but she didn’t care. There was only the two of them. Only the two of them and the thin shirt and tanktop between their warm bodies.

“Evelyn…” she heard Jo whisper in between heated kisses. “If you keep this up…”

Evelyn kept this up. She kissed Jo until all the awkwardness was gone, until their lips were raw, until she was dripping wet between her thighs. She kissed until there was no question between them what she wanted to do tonight if there could be no tomorrow between them.

“Evelyn, seriously,” Jo said frantically, although she didn’t stop kissing, either. Evelyn ducked down to pepper her jaw and her neck with kisses, freeing her to speak.

“Mhmm,” was all she managed to say back.

“I…I’m, um…” Jo whined, panting.

Evelyn sucked on her neck, not at all caring if she left a hickey. Tonight there was just the two of them. Nobody else.

“Evelyn, please stop for a second!” Jo said, and Evelyn snapped out of it. She slid backwards on Jo’s lap, horrified.

“I’m so sorry—is everything okay?”

Jo was red as can be. Evelyn couldn’t help but notice the way her nipples were poking through her tanktop, small and perky. “I…I umm…” For the first time that night, Jo looked timid. Evelyn loved that she had such power over such a gorgeous woman. “It’s, um, uncomfortable…” she finally said.

Evelyn pouted, dejected. Was she that bad of a kisser? “You want to stop?”

But the other girl’s eyes widened. “What? God, no. I just, umm. I need to…adjust.”

Evelyn blinked, followed Jo’s gaze down between her legs, and suddenly it dawned on her. “Oh…OH.” Jo’s tanktop had slid up to her waist as they kissed, and her panties could barely contain the girl’s erection. The sight nearly made her faint. “Yeah, I could see how that might be uncomfortable,” she said with a laugh.

“Mind if I…?” Jo asked without asking.

Evelyn nodded and slid back some more, watching as Jo reached into her panties and untucked herself, her cock now causing the front of her panties to bulge. Evelyn’s head swam. Then Jo pulled her back onto her lap and the two went back to kissing, but now Evelyn could feel her, could feel how hard she was, could feel her want, and it was intoxicating. She pushed her against the couch and kissed her hard, slipping her tongue into her mouth. God, she loved feeling of the girl’s cock pressed against her. Every time Evelyn grinded her hips against her and heard her groan, it made her even wetter.

Finally, when she could take it no more, she brought her lips to Jo’s ear and whispered, “I want you.”

Jo gulped and nodded frantically. “I want you so fucking bad.”

“Then take me.” Evelyn didn’t care anymore. Tonight was a night to be somebody else. To be somebody who got to have what they wanted. To be somebody who didn’t worry.

Another flash of lightning filled the room, but Evelyn barely noticed the storm anymore. There was just the two of them and the fiery need between them.
